Thought I'd post my art site address which has a page dedicated to greyhound and other canine portraits. I work from photos and am available for commissions. As far as bragging rights, I've been luck enough to have my work accepted into the juried art competition and show - Art Show At The Dog Show. I have not won the big prizes yet, but I am honored to appear in the same event as Sara Reagan Snavely, Yvonne Sovereign and a few other greyhound and whippet notables. I am not as inexpensive as some, or as expensive as others, but I think you will find the quality of my work is outstanding. I'm also willing to do lay-away style payments on your commissions so you won't starve paying for your painting
If you live in Delaware or Pennsylvania, you'll likely see me at many of the regional art shows, and I might even do GIG this year. You'll see me at the NJ Pet Expo and Greyhounds Reach The Beach (I'm in the firehall again this year!)
I also do screen savers using photoshop from your photo.

I have been on pins and needles for the past couple weeks - waiting for the jury to make their decisions on my entries for The Art Show At The Dog Show exhibition. The show is in Wichita, KS and is a part of the AKC event held there, and is also part civic event. I have been entering the past couple years, but have not received any ribbons or prize money to date. You can see more about the event at their website www.artshowatthedogshow.com
Soooooooo... a letter came from Wichita today..... aaaannnnnnddddddd........ well........... the show only allows each artist to enter four pieces for consideration, and there were almost 450 entries.... so the competition was pretty stiff.............................................
The letter said that the judges had a tough time deciding what pieces to accept and those to reject and that they appreciated all those who submitted their work for jurying, so.....
They rejected Freya and Red Brindle At The Turn
Which I thought were pretty good
BUT, They did accept TWO pieces.... Woooo Hoooooo!!!!!!
They took
Willy
And
My Sleeping Sweetie
I might have to raise the asking prices on these pieces if they win a prize
It's 18 degrees above zero out here, but I am feeling somewhat warmer after getting the letter from the art show jury
How does freelance differ from commissioned work....(I guess its commercial vs fine art).. What sort of logo are they looking for and what are their requirements... They can always e-mail me at markvturner@yahoo.com
My 2007 exhibition and show schedule is firming up and it is on my web page at www.markvturner.com. Look for the 2007 show schedule button on the left side of the page.
I always try to bring at least one piece of greyhound art to every show - more if people let me know they will be attending with a specific interest...
