We are very pleased to announce L'il Bullet's Gotcha Day of February 9 and Murphy's Gotcha Day of February 10. They came to us after we lost our beloved Tony's Warrior, last year on February 6, 2006. They have brought much joy and excitement into our lives.
L'il Bullet is an AKC 15 month old baby grey and came from Idaho. He was shipped to us in an empty crate, with no blankets or toys. It was a very long trip for him. We wanted to see what a greyhound puppy was like, and boy has he shown us! during the same time we were looking for a pupper, we also contacted the local rescue groups, trying to see if there was another grey available for adoption. We hadn't found any, and then right before we finalized the arrangements for L'il Bullet, we got a call from the rescue asking if we would be willing to meet a 5 year old fawn, that had been returned twice and abused. His racing name was U Too Iceman. He raced until he was five and had been in several homes, and people thought he was too much trouble. He was timid, hand-shy, withdrawn, and extremely afraid of men. Within three weeks, he came out of his shell and blossomed into a totally different dog. The boys are home with me full time and I like to think, get lots of love and attention.
I sometimes think that our dear Tony is laughing at the troubles that we have with wily L'il Bullet. He has proved to be quite a handful! Murphy has settled in and in some ways, taking over many of Tony's old characteristics of hanging with my husband around the yard as he does chores. I like to think that Murphy finally found his perfect forever home.
Fank doG for my boys! Wishing them happy Gotcha Days with a very greytful heart!
