For anyone that can spare a few dollars, there is a website, Greyhound Crossings, that fosters greys prior to adoption.  You can sponsor any grey, for a month, for any amount of money, and it purchases them a bag with supplies which is filled with lots of very nice and useful items that they can take to their forever home!
