24% Dixie. You are a Yankee Doodle Dandy. Maybe it because I lived down south for 5 years. So that makes me a good mixture. I can blend in any where without sticking out like a saw thumb.
Oh Lord. I came out 100% Dixie. As it should be since i was born south of the Mason-Dixon line.. Family straight out of 1640's colonial Virginia. It really made it hard for me when i moved to Chicago in the early 70's. Got teased a lot about my accent. had to learn how to talk without it. Only time it really comes out is when I've had a drink or two. Ooops!
I was 30% Dixie! Must have been the times that I lived in SC and FL as a kid! Much of the rest of the time I lived in New England and my father was raised in Vermont. My mom was raised in SE Pennsylvania.
I look like I am the less Dixie check here. Maybe thats because I am was born and raised in the New England Area. But as I got older. I lived down South and thats my 24 per cemnt accent. That people here every so often. It amazes me to to be able to here one speak that accent and mine comes out.
Hrm... I suppose this is reasonable! I was born and raised in the mountains of NC by two Upstate New Yorkers. When I finished high school I went to Boston for college and then stayed in the NE until this August when DH and I moved to Germany!
