Spiff can really only go up an down a small number of stairs now that he's old and one of his rear legs gives him trouble... but when we first adopted him, we had to teach him how to go up and down the steep flight of stairs into our 2nd floor apartment! He learned very well and would bound up them in about 3 leaps!!
